The Pen Behind the Pages

My story, from the first word to the latest world

Helping other writers IS the fun part of writing. For us, anyway.

Our goal for Authors for Authors Editing is right there in the name! We're trying to bring affordable, quality editing services to help writers achieve their dreams. Have you ever just wanted a BFF who could truly work through your manuscript with you? Do you just wish you had someone that cared as much as you about your work? That's us. We're here for you, to partner with you every step of the way (and you'll get more than you pay for, trust me--we just can't help ourselves).

What's the process look like?

You will begin with a 1:1 intro call to discuss your publishing goals, the vision for your manuscript, and the specific issues you've been having. We will form a timeline for your work and will check in with her progress before delivering your completed work with her suggested edits.

When all is said and done, our editors will meet with you 1:1 again to discuss the finalities and of course you will always be welcome to reach out for future questions!

Our team guarantees there will be no use of AI in any form. We will not use AI to grammar check, review your work, or edit in anyway, and your MS will never be fed into any sort of AI.

Worried about cost?

Seriously, just reach out. We want to help.

Meet Kate

Kate studied Literature and Linguistics at Oxford University and also received a BFA in Creative Writing from George Mason University. For the last 10 years, she has worked as a writer/producer in the television industry, working for major shows and brands including HBO and Warner Brothers.

Kate has been freelance editing, beta reading, and coaching others through their writing journeys since 2021, when she completed and sold my first novel.

Due to her background in scriptwriting and doctoring, she specializes in writing dialogue, building characterization without relying on descriptions, and the economy of words. Kate also has extensive experience in brand and audience development, allowing her to work with her clients to develop their target audience, genre, and brand identity and ensure that their manuscript matches their vision. While she has never worked as an agent, this experience helps Kate to position your book in the marketplace and put it in the best possible light to be sold and published.
